LNHCDA Hosts National Culture & Heritage Conference to Promote Unity and Peace in Liberia

The Liberia National Heritage And Culture Development Association-LNHCDA have staged a day long National Culture & Heritage Conference.

The conference which was held under the theme 'fostering greater understanding and appreciation of Liberia culture richness' brought together participants from the 15 political sub-divisions of Liberia.

Disclosing the overview of the program, Mr. Solomon Weawea the founder and Executive Director of Liberia National Heritage and Culture Development Association-LNHCDA disclosed that before 1822-1847, the people of Liberia lived in peace and there was never a "No Go Zoon" for any tribe till the civil war in 1990.



Giving brief historical facts about the 14 years of civil unrest in Liberia, Mr. Weawea said every tribe in Liberia fought for a particular reason which brought about tribal conflict that divided our beloved country.

Meanwhile, the hardworking ED said there is a need that Peace and Conflict Resolution be taught in our various school so as to avoid tribal conflict for our unborn generation.

ED Weawea stressed the need that we as Liberians take into consideration the three demographic of Liberia which consist of the Traditional demographic, Christian demographic and the Muslim demographic so as to enable Liberia and Liberians enjoy lasting peace.

However; ED Weawea indicated that his organization is expected to construct the country's first ever Holistic Medication Center which will be used for referrals.
